Fiji Time

We were originally just going to have a quick stopover in Fiji but the airline cancelled our flight from Fiji to LA so we agreed to be put up in a hotel for the night - poor us!

Arriving into Fiji.

We arrived mid afternoon when it was incredibly humid. We had to go to the airline office to sort out our accommodation and we were then taken to the Mercure in Nadi. We had a massive room which was good, and free meals for the whole time we were there. We just had to pay for our beer!

The food all looked really tasty: prawns, steaks and amazing puddings, etc. Just as we were about to order, one of the servers realised that we were 'disrupted passengers' so bought us out the correct menu. We had to settle for boring pizzas!

After a good nights sleep we decided to chill by the pool which was lovely and relaxing. There were lots of palm trees.

We attempted to go for a bit of a walk on the hunt for postcards but there wasn't really anything to see or do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel and we didn't have time to do a boat trip which was a shame.

Our flight to LA was on a brand new A330 airbus which still all shiny. It was good to be on a plane where you got things for free (unlike Air Asia) so we had a couple of drinks and watched a couple of films before trying to sleep to minimise the impact of our 44 hour day due to crossing the international dateline.
