The last few weeks have been a bit of an emotional roller coaster as we've given up our jobs, packed up our old house and had much Christmas merriment with our family and friends, as we travel towards a new life in Canada.
Packing up our house was a challenge, you don't realise how much stuff you accumulate in just a couple of years in a house. We owe a lot of thanks to Andy's parents, Karen and Pete and his Gran, Olwen for looking after all our stuff while we're away. On the plus side, we've been able to give or loan out some of our things to our lovely friends to look after and enjoy. We managed to fit all of our remaining stuff in a big van to take to Carlisle (apart from a last minute stash that we managed to squeeze into the car on the day we had to move out!).

It's really strange being homeless and carrying all of our stuff for three months in two suitcases and two rucksacks. It took three edits to get everything we wanted to take to fit! As well as winter and summer clothes, we have our tent, two sleeping bags and mats and a camping stove, as we're going to be doing lots of camping in New Zealand and America.
Both of us have wanted to do this adventure for a long time and were so excited now that it's finally happening! Although it's daunting, we can't wait to get started.
P.S. The title of the blog comes from the song Canada by Low and pretty much sums up the last few weeks!
